Tangley Way Kidnapping Arrests

Two individuals have been arrested for kidnapping after six hours of negotiations on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 5:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Tangley Way after receiving a tip from the Savage, Minnesota Police Department that two suspects wanted for kidnapping were inside the residence. Officers verified that the suspects were inside and attempted to make contact, but they refused to exit the home. The Crisis Negotiation Unit and the Emergency Response Unit were called to assist. After several hours of negotiation, the male and female suspects exited the house and were taken into custody just after 11:00 p.m.

Zachariah Whitehead, 28, and Amanda Wamack, 28, were arrested on felony kidnapping warrants from Minnesota. Both are currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The kidnapping victim, an infant, was safely removed from the residence and treated by emergency personnel as a precaution before being placed into protective custody.
