Florence Avenue homicide investigation

Lexington Police responded to the 700-block of Florence Avenue around 6:50 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Officers located a 17-year-old juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and succumbed to his injuries. 

Around the same time a 19-year-old man arrived at another local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  After further investigation Detectives determined the incidents to be related.

The deceased victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office. Police continue to investigate this case.
