Arrest Made in Three Sexual Assault Cases

The Lexington Police Department, in conjunction with the Kentucky State Police, KYOAG SAKI Taskforce, and Jessamine County Sheriff's Office, has arrested one person in connection with three cold case abductions and sexual assaults.

From 2009 to 2016, officers responded to three different sexual assaults. In each case, the female victim was abducted before being sexually assaulted.  Using DNA technology, detectives were able to connect the victims and identify the suspect.

On February 3, 2023, George Wayne Aldridge, 52 was arrested and charged in the cases. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center. Below are his charges:

  • Three counts of Kidnapping
  • Two counts of 1st degree Rape
  • Two counts of 1st degree Sexual Abuse
  • Two counts of 1st degree Sodomy
  • One count of 1st degree Wanton Endangerment
