Liberty Road homicide investigation

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide on Liberty Road.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at approximately 3:51 a.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Liberty Road for a report of a subject shot. When officers arrived, they located the 23-year-old male victim behind the apartments suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he had succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s office.
