Catera Trace shooting investigation arrest

The Lexington Police Department has charged an additional 18-year-old suspect, Teyo Waite, in the Catera Trace shooting investigation.

Waite has been charged with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree. Waite is currently lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department has charged a suspect in a shots fired investigation.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, at approximately 2:13am, officers responded to the 200 block of Catera Trace regarding two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.  When officers arrived they located a 35-year-old victim with minor injuries. Officers observed her 5-year-old son with critical injuries. The 5-year-old survived his injuries but lost his eyesight. 

After further investigation detectives have charged an 18 year-old suspect, Michael Lemond, with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree. Lemond is currently lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center.
