Suspect arrested in Winnie Street homicide investigation

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service and Frankfort Police Department, Danzell Cruse was located and arrested in Frankfort, KY on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He is currently booked for Murder and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon in the Franklin County Regional Jail.

A suspect has been named for the homicide of 38-year-old, Jocko Green. The 26-year-old suspect, Danzell Cruse, has warrants for Murder and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.

Cruse is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The Lexington Police are investigating a shooting victim who has succumbed to his injuries.

At approximately 3:53 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, officers responded to the 600 block of Winnie Street for a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old man who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
