Betsy Lane homicide investigation

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Betsy Lane.

Around 9:08 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, officers responded to the 300 block of Betsy Lane regarding shots fired with one individual suffering from gunshot wounds. When officers arrived they located a 14-year-old male juvenile in a yard with life-threatening injuries. Officers performed CPR on the victim until the Lexington Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
