W. Main Street Shooting and Homicide Arrest

UPDATE – 06/21/22: An arrest has been made in the November 2021 homicide of Jesse Jimenez.

Robert Okorley, 40, has been charged with Murder,  2nd Degree Assault, Attempted Murder, 1st Degree Criminal Mischief, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.

Okorley is currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide on W. Main Street.

On Friday, November 5, 2021, at approximately 2:42 a.m., officers responded to the area of Main Street and Oliver Lewis for a report of shots fired. The officers checked the area and did not locate anything out of the ordinary.

At approximately 2:48 a.m., a male victim arrived at a local hospital with a reported non-life threatening gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the incident had occurred in the 700 block of W. Main Street. Officers returned to the area and located a male victim deceased with a gunshot wound in an apartment. 

The victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s office.

This investigation is ongoing.
