UPDATE: One person has been arrested following a homicide that occurred early this morning on Oxford Circle.

Woody LaPierre, 29, was arrested and charged with Murder. LaPierre is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning on Oxford Circle.

At around 3:54 a.m., on September 25, 2022, officers responded to the 1800 block of Oxford Circle for a subject that had been shot. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene by the Lexington Fire Department. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim's name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner's Office.
