The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday evening on Hedgewood Court.
At 6:44 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2022, officers responded to the 200 block of Hedgewood Court for a report of a subject who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The victim's name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner's Office.
Detectives are asking residents in the area to please check their home surveillance video and contact the Lexington Police Department if they have any footage that could help in the investigation.
