Danielle Lane double homicide investigation

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a double homicide that occurred on Danielle Lane.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 1:18 hours, officers responded to the 2500-block of Danielle Lane regarding a subject possibly having a medical emergency. Upon arrival, officers located the 26-year-old female, Tyler M. Sandusky, identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, deceased from a gunshot wound. The victim was located near a Toyota Camry. 

After further investigation, officers located a second victim, a 27-year-old male, Shaquille L. Newby, identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, in the front passenger seat of the Toyota Camry. The victim was also suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident.
