Shropshire Avenue Homicide Investigation Arrest

UPDATE - 04/30/24: One person has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Devin Chenault, 37, that occurred just after midnight.

Jerrico Roberts, 36, was arrested and is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on the below charges. In addition to the charges from the homicide, he was also charged on unrelated warrants.

  • Murder
  •  Assault 2nd degree – Domestic Violence
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Possession of a handgun by convicted felon

 

During the investigation, detectives learned that the shooting may have taken place in the 1800 block of Liberty Road.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on April 30, 2024.  

On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, around 12:25 a.m., an officer in the area of Shropshire Avenue and East Third Street located a vehicle blocking the intersection. When the officer approached the vehicle, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the decedent’s name.
