UPDATE: North Martin Luther King Blvd Homicide and Shooting Investigation Arrests

UPDATE: 03/21/2023  – Two people have been arrested in connection with the March 17, 2023 homicide and shooting that took place on N Martin Luther King Blvd.

Marquan King, 19, was arrested and charged with Murder, Assault 2nd degree, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.

Lamont Clayborne, 21, was arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Both are currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide and shooting that occurred this evening on N Martin Luther King Blvd.

At around 7:33 p.m. on March 17, 2023, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Marathon in the 300 block of N Martin Luther King Blvd for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two victims, a male and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital. The male was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The female suffered reported non-life-threatening injuries.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the decedent’s name.
