West Short Street Homicide Investigation Arrests

UPDATE – 03/05/22: Three people have been charged in a homicide and assault that occurred in the 300 block of West Short Street.

The Lexington Police Department has charged the following individuals in the incident that occurred in the early morning hours of March 5, 2022.

  • Juan Linares, 23 – Murder
  • Humberto Saucedo-Salgado, 25 – Assault 1st Degree
  • Oziel Saucedo-Salgado, 28 – Assault 1st Degree
     

All three individuals are currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The deceased victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on West Short Street.  

At around 2:52 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, officers responded to the 300 block of West Short Street for a call of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located two male victims suffering from injuries. The first male victim was suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lexington Fire Department. The second victim was suffering from reported life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The deceased victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
