One Arrested For an Assault

One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred this morning in the 500 block of West New Circle.

On January 18, 2024, at 1:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West New Circle Road for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, but is currently in stable condition.

The Real-Time Intelligence Center, traffic cameras, Flock license plate readers, and tips received through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers helped detectives identify the suspect.

The suspect, Kenneth Mitchell, 30, was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
