Be a part of a once-in-a-generation community project at Shillito Park playground

On September 18 – 22, Lexington Parks and Recreation will team up with the community and the original designers of Shillito Playground to create a new space for play. There are a variety of volunteer positions available for community members, ages 16 years and older.

911 service expands to include text

Mayor Linda Gorton today announced a new regional initiative bringing “text-to-911” to Lexington and several Central Kentucky counties. The service is available now.

City’s recycling center reopens

The city’s Recycle Center has reopened and is once again processing recyclable materials. The center had been shut down because the machine that separates aluminum cans from other recyclables was not operating properly.
