UPDATE: Winchester Road Homicide Investigation Arrest

UPDATE – June 7, 2024: One person has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Chadrik Boone Sr that occurred in February on Winchester Road. 

Utilizing the Real-Time Intelligence Center, Flock license plate readers, and traffic cameras,  detectives were able to identify the suspect as Kyshawn Owens, 28. On June 7, 2024, Kyshawn Owens was arrested in Yonkers, NY, by the US Marshals Service NY/NJ Task Force and the Yonkers Police Department. 

He is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail on the charge of Murder awaiting extradition to Fayette County.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning.

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 3:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Winchester Road for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives from the Personal Crimes Section are continuing to investigate.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased victim’s name.
