The Division of Environmental Services provides a wide range of environmentally-related services to city government and the public. These include civic beautification, community-wide sustainability initiatives, urban forestry, greenway management, mowing of corridors and county roads, enforcement of environmental ordinances, public outreach and education, and internal energy initiatives.

Wanted: Your Bike Month events

In May, Lexington will celebrate its second annual Bike Month and you are invited to host an event! Bike Month will celebrate riding a bicycle for transportation, exercise and/or fun while reminding drivers to slow down, pay attention and share the road.

Volunteer to plant trees at Reforest the Bluegrass

The City of Lexington’s annual tree planting event will take place on April 15 at Hisle Park, 3551 Briar Hill Road.

Teachers’ Environmental Academy applications now open

Workshops will focus on multi-modal transportation, waste management and water quality.
