Council Clerk's Office

The Council Clerk's office is the official record-keeping office for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.

The Clerk's Office maintains:

  • Legislation and contracts
  • Council Meeting dockets and minutes
  • Public Meeting Notices
  • Oaths of Office
  • Records of the Ethics Commission and City Employee Pension Fund Board


Legistar is platform that tracks all documents as they go through the legislative process. Using this online program, you can find Council Meeting dockets, full copies of passed legislation and contracts, dating back to 2012. 

Open Records Requests (911, Fire and Police)

Although they are departments of the City, the Fire Department and Police Department maintain their own records. If you are looking to request a copy of a 911, fire or police report, send your request directly to the appropriate agency.
