Yard waste collection schedule announcement

Lexington’s Division of Waste Management will suspend its yard waste collections for two weeks later this month.

Yard waste carts, bags and bundles will not be collected from Dec. 20 – 31. This affects all service days. Trash and recycling carts will still be serviced during that time, but on adjusted holiday schedules.

Yard waste collections are being suspended to allow crews and trucks to assist with waste and recycling collections during the two weeks.

Residents who have yard waste that need to be disposed of should put their carts, bags and bundles at the curb for pick up on their regular collection day during the week of Dec. 13 – 17.

Yard waste collections will resume on Monday, Jan. 3, along with the start of curbside collection of natural Christmas trees.
