Apply for funding to create affordable housing
The Lexington Affordable Housing Program offers loans and grants from the Affordable Housing Fund to create affordable housing for those households at or below 80% of area median income ($59,600 for a family of four). In order to apply for funding, follow the steps below:

- Fill out and submit your application, application attachment and application checklist.
If you are seeking funding from other agencies such as Kentucky Housing Corporation, the Federal Home Loan Bank or LFUCG HOME funds, you may submit applications to those agencies in lieu of the application listed above. All applications must contain a statement of sources and uses; and a 15-year pro forma that is consistent with the information presented to other agencies.
All applications are reviewed by staff and the Affordable Housing Governing Board.
Upon acceptance of your application and closing is complete, all funding requests must be accompanied by the draw form.
Affordable Housing Fund
The mission of the Affordable Housing Fund is to leverage public investment to preserve, produce, and provide safe, quality, affordable housing. The Affordable Housing Fund was created with an initial allocation of $3 million from Lexington's FY 2014 general fund budget. Annual allocations of at least $2 million were adopted by Ordinance 103-2014.
Affordable Housing Governing Board
The Affordable Housing Governing Board is charged with establishing policies and procedures, and overseeing the financial and administrative actions of the affordable housing fund.

The Office of Affordable Housing is tasked with managing the day-to-day administration of the fund, and also serves as the point of contact for affordable housing at the City of Lexington.
