Streets & Roads
Streets & Roads maintains all city and county roads, except those on the state and federal highway system. Work includes pothole repair, snow removal, street sweeping, intersection curb repair, sidewalk handicap ramp installation, routine and emergency servicing of storm sewer drains and maintenance of various bridges and certain creeks within the Urban Services Area.

Snow and ice plan
The city has a comprehensive snow and ice plan designed to keep winter roadways safe in the most reasonable, efficient and effective manner.
During normal business hours, Streets & Roads makes every effort to repair a pothole that has been reported to LexCall within 48 hours. To report a pothole on a city maintained street, contact LexCall at 311 or (859) 425-2255.
Report a roadway problem
Sometimes, there might be a problem with a roadway surface that isn't caused by a pothole.
Lexington has a new potent weapon in its annual war on snowy streets … a second salt barn. Mayor Linda Gorton and several councilmembers cut a ribbon to officially open the salt barn today, and crews began filling it with salt.
With a rain/snow mix expected in the evening hours combined with temperatures expected below freezing, the City is urging commuters to use extra caution on their morning commute.
Lexington’s once a year vacuum leaf collection program will begin on Monday, Nov. 4. The vacuum pickup is offered to single-family homes that receive city waste collection service.
