The availability of up to $300,000 in economic development grants was authorized by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council in the fiscal year 2018 adopted budget for the purpose of providing economic and workforce development services to supplement and support the work of the Urban County Government.
The FY18 application process will be the application process for a 2-year funding cycle (FY18 – 19).
The award for FY19 will be awarded contingent on approval of the funds in the FY19 Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government budget cycle and contingent on each agency completing their respective grant outcomes.
The acknowledgment of this contingency will be agreed-upon by all awarded agencies in all grant award contracts.
The purpose of the grant is to provide economic and workforce development services to supplement and support the work of the Urban County Government. Funding this cycle will impact workforce areas of:
- Employment entry/re-entry.
Programming for all agencies will begin on July 1, 2017 and commence on June 30, 2018. Agencies funded for this year are listed below and contain a summary of the training provided as well as contact information for referral purposes.

On-The-Job training to participants in FoodChain’s processing kitchen (culinary methods, employability soft skills, health department requirements, etc.).
