The 2024 General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Bring your driver's license or any qualifying ID for a fast and easy check-in.

The deadline to register to vote is 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. 

Check your registration and make sure your address is current by visiting govoteky.com. If any information is missing or wrong, update your registration on the Go Vote Kentucky website. Wait a few days for the County Clerk's office to process the update.

Mail-in absentee ballot

Visit govoteky.com and select "Absentee ballot request" to see if you qualify. This method of voting is only available to certain qualified voters. Check to see if you qualify for an absentee ballot.

If you qualify, complete the application, and the County Clerk's office will mail you an absentee ballot. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully. The strict compliance with procedures has been reinstated.

Both mail-in ballots or ballots are placed in the drop box in front of the County Clerk's office at 162 E. Main St. You can mail it in as well.

In-person absentee voting

In-person absentee voting is available to voters with a qualifying excuse during early voting and General Election Day. 

In-person absentee voting will be at the Fayette County Clerk's office from Oct. 23 to 25 and 28 to 30, 2024. The hours for voting will be 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. You must have a qualifying excuse.

This voting method is restricted to voters who meet the specific qualifying reasons for absentee ballots, those in their third trimester of pregnancy, and election officers tasked with administrating the current election cycle.

Early voting

Early voting is available to any registered voter on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday immediately before Election Day, Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 2, 2024.

Vote at any public library in Fayette County between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
