Street sweeping
Regular street sweeping is completed on a rotating basis every 6 – 8 weeks for those who pay for the service as a part of their taxes. For mud/dust in roadway from new construction, please contact Engineering though LexCall at 311 or (859) 425-2255 or online.

Mr. Manhole
Mr. Manhole is a machine that Streets & Roads use to levels manholes in the roadways. This action helps prevent accidents and vehicle damages, along with providing a smoother ride.

Storm sewer
Storm sewers carry away excess water from heavy rainfall or melting snow and ice. Streets & Roads repairs the pipes, headwalls, catch basin tops, curb inlets and manholes that are public parts of the storm sewer system.

Americans with Disabilities Act ramps
ADA ramps are installed to help citizens onto the sidewalks that would have difficultly stepping onto a curb. ADA ramps and tiles (a textured, audible sidewalk crossing aid) are installed when needed.

Bridge cleanups
Bridge cleaning consists of trimming back overhanging vegetation and removing rock and dirt from the top of the bridge. This keeps drains from clogging and flooding the bridge.

Debris removal
Streets & Roads crew remove rubble, trash/garbage, wreckage, etc. that is scattered in the roadway or sidewalks. This debris can cause hazardous conditions for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
