County Employees Retirement Systems (CERS)

Full-time employees participate in Kentucky Retirement Systems’ County Employees Retirement System (CERS). Plan participants make pre-tax contributions to the CERS pension fund and the city’s legislative body contributes city revenues to the fund. For more information, contact Kentucky Retirement Systems 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Police and Firefighter Retirement Fund (PFRF)

The Police and Firefighter Retirement Fund (PFRF) is a retirement and benefit fund for sworn members of the Lexington Police Department and Fire & Emergency Services. The provisions of the PFRF are established by state law (KRS 67A.360 – 67A.690). The statutes should be consulted for detailed information or contact the Police and Firefighter's Retirement Fund office 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
