Public notice #1

The Lexington-Fayette County Planning Commission will accept applications to fill a vacancy on the Urban-County Planning Commission for a term that ends July 1, 2028. The Planning Commission reviews and adopts the community's comprehensive plan, approves subdivision plats and development plans, and makes recommendations to the Council for zone change requests. Planning Commission members volunteer their time and participate in public meetings scheduled for every Thursday. Qualified applicants will be residents of Fayette County and will complete and submit the online application. Direct questions to the Division of Planning at (859) 258-3160. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 but may be submitted earlier. The application is at:  lexingtonky.gov/pca.

Planning Commission Public Hearing

The Urban County Planning Commission will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Sept.19, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room, Phoenix Building, 101 East Vine Street, Lexington, Kentucky to consider appointing a new member to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission for a term to end July 1, 2028.

Planning Commission Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Urban County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers, Government Center, 200 E. Main St. in order to hear comments about the following:

  1. PLN-MAR-24-00013: SHADELAND INVESTMENTS, LLC – a petition for a zone map amendment from a Planned Neighborhood Residential (R-3) zone to a Neighborhood Business (B-1) zone for 0.16 net (0.28 gross) acres for property located at 185 Eastern Ave.
  2. PLN-MAR-24-00014: SUBTEXT ACQUISITIONS, LLC – a petition for a zone map amendment from a Single Family Residential (R-1E) zone, a Planned Neighborhood Residential (R-3) zone and a Neighborhood Business (B-1) zone to a Corridor Node (CN) Zone, for 2.13 net (2.80 gross) acres for properties located at 545-549, 553, 563 S.   4. PLN-ZOTA-24-00003: REGULATION OF SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS – a text amendment to create a new article in the Zoning Ordinance to facilitate the siting, development, construction, installation, and decommissioning of solar energy systems.
