Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States and can be played by people of all ages and athletic abilities. Similar to a racquet sport, Pickleball combines the elements of badminton, Table Tennis and tennis. It shares many of their features – the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis with several modifications. Pickleball requires minimal equipment (racquet and ball) so it is inexpensive to play.
Lexington has 15 dedicated Pickleball courts.
- 12 courts at Kirklevington Park
- 2 courts (painted over tennis courts) at Meadowthorpe Park
- 1 court at the Lexington Senior Center (This court is only open to the public through programs offered at the Lexington Senior Center.)
