Water for Life Festival at Jacobson Park on July 17

Come out to Jacobson Park this Sunday for a day of family-friendly activities that focus on water in our community.

Water for Life is a free, public event that celebrates water in our environment. It is held as part of this year’s Kentucky-Tennessee Water Professionals Conference, where 1,500 water professionals will meet in Lexington to learn about water issues affecting the communities they serve. To give back to the community, the Young Professionals Committee invites local families to an afternoon of fun, water-focused activities.

Water for Life will be held on Sunday, July 17, at Jacobson Park, 4001 Athens Boonesboro Rd., near Shelter #1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. With more than 30 educational booths, games, canoeing adventures, Next Round Brewing, a snow cone truck and the People’s Choice Water Tasting Competition, there is something for everyone to enjoy. It’s a fun way for people of all ages to celebrate water, our most precious resource, and to learn about water conservation and water quality.

This event and conference were made possible by the host utilities, Lexington’s Division of Water Quality and Kentucky American Water, along with sponsors and exhibitors, presenters and the volunteer planning committee. It’s a tremendous team effort, and we are so grateful for everyone who plays a role in creating and bringing this conference and Water for Life to Lexington.
