Part of Squires Road Trail closed for sewer construction

The Squires Road Trail will be closed from Summerhill Drive to Buckhorn Drive starting on Monday, June 5 for sanitary sewer construction. The closure is expected to last through the summer.

Pedestrians and cyclists can use Summerhill Drive, Kenesaw Drive and Buckhorn Drive to detour around the trail closure.

Trail access points between Summerhill Drive and Buckhorn Drive will be unavailable. The trail will be open from Berry Hill Park to Squires Road.

This project is part of the East Hickman Force Main, which involves nearly six miles of sanitary sewer pipe constructed from the new East Hickman Pump Station to the West Hickman Wastewater Treatment Plant. This new pipeline will allow the sewer system to support our growing community. This project is part of the federal consent decree requirements for Lexington to improve its sanitary sewer system.
