HANDS program

This home visitation program teaches parents about health, pregnancy, home safety, bonding and infant development.

HANDS provides free voluntary, evidence-based home visits for pregnant women and families with young children.

HANDS builds upon decades of research showing that home visits by a nurse and trained early childhood educators promote child development, improve school readiness, improve maternal and child health, and increase the likelihood of positive parenting.

The program provides individually tailored support and fun activities to families in their homes, including information on children’s health, referrals to community resources, pregnancy, home safety, bonding, and infant development.
