Game on!

Esports is one of the fastest-growing sports genres nationally. It welcomes participants of all ages and backgrounds. Parks & Recreation’s esports programs will be for all skill levels, designed to create a fun, friendly atmosphere welcoming to all. 

We host a variety of leagues, including Madden 21, FIFA 21 and NBA 2K21. More coming soon!

Registration is now open for our pilot leagues. 

All games are played online. Participants must have all applicable hardware, software and online access to compete in the leagues. Parents, check game content ratings before allowing your children to register for a league.

General information

Ages

  • 6th– 8th grade
  • 9th – 12th grade
  • Adult 18+


Cost 
Pilot leagues – Free

Matches
Every 72 hours, the league will be advanced by a week.
Participants will receive schedules via email and on Discord. 
Leagues will consist of at least five players and be an eight-game season.

Games may be played cross-platform. (i.e. Madden PS5 can play against Madden PS4 if needed to combine leagues)

Register online 

Due to COVID-19, all games are played online. Participants must have all applicable hardware, software and online access to compete in the leagues. Parents, check game content ratings before allowing your children to register for a league. Parent consent forms for participants under 18 must be signed at registration. To register for a league

  1. Visit parks.lexingtonky.gov to register for a league
  2. Register for a league in a game you own and play. Make sure you select the correct console. You will receive email notification and instructions.  
  3. Download the “Discord” app
  4. Open the app
    • Create your profile
    • Accept our invitation to join our Parks & Recreation Discord channel.
  5. Invite your friends!
     

Once you have registered, each week you can

  1. Check the app for your next matchup Ex. #Madden
  2. Communicate with fellow league participants 


On game day

  1. Go online/meet up for your game at your scheduled time
  2. Play your game on your console or PC
  3. Afterward, submit your score (with screenshot) in the league’s Discord channel.
