Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, confidential program available to LFUCG employees who are seeking counseling from trained and experienced professionals on a range of issues including:

  • work-related problems, burnout
  • divorce, marital problems
  • child behavior issues, parenting problems
  • elder care issues
  • blended families
  • grief and loss
  • drug and alcohol problems


The City's EAP provider is Access Wellness Group. 

Who is eligible?

Employees, their spouses, and their dependents are eligible for EAP services. Employees do not have to be enrolled in a city medical plan to utilize EAP services.  

Will I have to pay to use EAP?

No. EAP services are free to employees, their spouses and dependents. Employees have five free EAP sessions per year with Access Wellness.  

Will my boss or other people at work know I am using EAP?

No. An employee's voluntary use of the EAP is strictly confidential. An employee's personal information is not shared with their employer or anyone else. The city's EAP providers do not share any information with anyone in the employee's workplace (including HR) unless they have signed a written HIPAA-compliant Release of Information giving the provider permission to do so.
