Community gardens

Lexington is proud to partner with community gardeners who desire to beautify public lands, improve the environment or produce food for their neighborhood. Volunteers can elect to grow a perennial or butterfly garden, plant large roadway medians, install a rain garden or enjoy the fruits of their labor in a vegetable garden.

Starting a garden

If you are interested in starting a community garden project, we encourage you to use the links on this page to familiarize yourself with the community garden rules and applications (listed below). Applications must be coordinated with your neighborhood association and city councilmember. Approvals last one year, with an option to renew each subsequent year.
