The Board is established to advise the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of
Parks and Recreation to perpetuate the nature sanctuary status of the property in
Fayette County is known as the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary.

The Board’s role in carrying out this purpose will entail suggesting methods to: protect the scenic,
historical, biological, and geological attributes of the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary; maintain a trail
system of good quality; develop programs that offer exposure to the resources of Raven Run to the
general public while at the same time minimizing the impact on the environment; and supporting the
nature center located at Raven Run.

In addition, the Board will encourage owners of properties adjacent to Raven Run Nature Sanctuary
to maintain their property in a manner that is compatible with a nature sanctuary, help to obtain
funding to support the mission of Raven Run through private and public sources, and advising in
other matters relating to Raven Run Nature Sanctuary.

Meeting schedule and location

Schedule: The second Wednesday of every other month
Time: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Location: Alternates between the Raven Run Education Building, 3885 Raven Run Wy. and the Picadome Outing Room, 469 Parkway Dr. as indicated
