Waller Avenue to be closed Tuesday – Thursday morning

A section of Waller Avenue will be closed to traffic starting Tuesday, October 12, to allow for repair work on the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing. The road is expected to reopen sometime Thursday morning.

Waller will be closed between Crescent Avenue and the Commonwealth Hand and Physical Therapy Center (the old Central Kentucky Blood Center). Motorists can use Virginia Avenue as a detour around the closure. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout the project.

The work will involve removing the asphalt at the railroad crossing and repairing the tracks as needed. New asphalt will be applied when the repairs are completed.
