Leagues

Play Golf Lex Am Tour 

April – October
All 5 Lexington City Golf Courses 

Season-long golf tour that rotates between our Lexington City Golf Courses, play as little or as much as you want. Divisions for both men and women. Players will have the opportunity each week to earn prize money and points. A season-long points race cumulates in the Play Golf Lex Tour Championship where golfers that win their divisions will win FREE greens fees for an entire year.

Championship Matches Sunday
All five Lexington City courses

In order to give our golfers a chance to compete while following current safety guidelines, we have created this event for you! The best part is there is no tournament fee, only pay for your greens/cart fees.

  • Matches can be scheduled at any of the five City of Lexington Golf courses at different dates and times in order to conform to group gathering restrictions
  • Online leaderboards and scorekeeping
  • One rider per cart
  • Players will maintain social distancing
  • Flagpoles will remain in cups and pool noodles have been inserted

Junior City Championship

June 22 – 23, 2023

This 36-hole championship is open to junior golfers (boys and girls) ages 9 – 18 years. Individuals will compete in their own age division.

Lexington Team Championship

April 29 – 30, 2023
Kearney Hill Golf Links

This 36-hole championship is a two-person team event with a different format for each nine holes. The first day is a nine-hole better ball format followed by a nine-hole Chapman alternate shot. The second day begins with a nine-hole scramble and finishes with a nine-hole combined gross format.

Womens Team – 18-hole best ball net championship – Teams of 4 will play their own ball from tee to hole and the team score for each hole will be a combination of a mystery number of scores per hole. Some holes may count 1 net score while other may count all 4 net scores.

Lexington Men's Senior City Championship

June 9 – 11, 2023
Lakeside, Gay Brewer Jr. at Picadome and Kearney Hill Golf Links

Flighted division individual stroke play – 54 hole stroke play championship – gross scoring only and you will compete against players in your own flight. The flighted division is only for seniors 50 – 69, there will be no flights in the legends division. The field will be cut to the top 60% and ties after the completion of the second round if the field is large enough to warrant a cut. All players who miss the cut will receive a free round voucher to Kearney Hill.

Men’s City Championship

July 14 – 16, 2023
Tates Creek, Gay Brewer Jr. Course at Picadome and Kearney Hill Golf Links

The Men’s City Golf Championship is definitely one of Lexington’s favorite golf tournaments and includes golfers of all ages and handicaps. Played on three different golf courses over the course of three days, this is a 54-hole tournament. Divisions include Scratch/Championship and 4 other Flights based on players handicap indexes.

Women's City Championship

July 8 – 9, 2023
Tates Creek Golf Course and Kearney Hill Golf Links

This 36-hole tournament is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Each person competes against participants of their own skill level and there are plenty of winners. In addition to the individual competition, participants may sign-up to compete in the team tournament at no additional cost. The team competition will be comprised of four players who represent the same club and are playing in the tournament as individuals.

The Lexington Mid-Am Championship is new to our calendar. This 36-hole championship is available to male amateur players 25 and older.

Cabin Fever Two-Person Scramble

March 25, 2023
Tates Creek Golf Course

This 18-hole, two-person scramble is open to golfers of all ages and skill levels. This event has a noon shotgun start. Prizes will be provided for each session. Each session will be limited to the first 50 teams to register.

Lexington Parks & Recreation is proud to host the Extreme Scramble at Lakeside Golf Course. This 18-hole, the three-person scramble is open to anyone willing to accept the challenge of extreme golf.

Gibson Bay Golf Course

Come join your local Fire Department on the greens and help support Lexington community fire prevention activities. Compete in teams of four. 24 teams in the morning and 24 teams in the afternoon. Sponsorships are available for holes, carts and more.

Dyeabolical Par 3

Kearney Hill Golf Links 

A course setup that would make course designer Pete Dye proud. The golf course is set up with a new course layout, with difficult and challenging hole locations, blind shots, and unusual teeing locations. Most holes are set up as par 3 with a few par 4’s mixed in to add to the challenge. Players compete in 2 player teams in a scramble format. 2023 will be the 3rd year of this now annual event which has seen a full sold-out field each year.
