Play Golf Lex Match Play Championship | April – June

All five Lexington City courses

Players will compete in divisions against players with similar handicaps, in an individual match-play format.

First-round matches begin in early April and continue through the end of June.  All Championship Matches will be played on Sunday, June 9 at Kearney Hill Golf Links.

  • Men’s and Women’s Divisions
  • No tournament entry, players will only play applicable greens and/or cart fees to the course on the match date.
  • Matches can be scheduled at any of the five Lexington public golf courses at different dates and times based on the participants’ schedules.
  • Online leaderboards and scorekeeping
  • Event counts as an eligible event for season points and tournaments for the Play Golf Lex Am Tour

Lexington Team Championship | April 27 –28

April 27 – 28, 2024

This 36-hole championship is a two-person team event with a different format for each nine holes. The first day is a nine-hole better ball format followed by a nine-hole Chapman alternate shot. The second day begins with a nine-hole scramble and finishes with a nine-hole combined gross format.

Women’s Team – 18-hole best ball net championship – Teams of four will play their own ball from tee to hole and the team score for each hole will be a combination of a mystery number of scores per hole. Some holes may count one net score, while others may count all four net scores.

Junior City Championship | June 20 – 21

This 36-hole championship is open to junior golfers (boys and girls) ages 9 – 18 years. Individuals will compete by age division.

Lexington Men's Senior City Championship | June 14 – 16

June 14 – 16, 2024
Tates Creek, Lakeside, and Kearney Hill Golf Links

Flighted division individual stroke play – 54-hole stroke play championship – gross scoring only and you will compete against players in your own flight. The flighted division is only for seniors 50 – 69, there will be no flights in the legends division. The field will be cut to the top 60% and ties after the completion of the second round if the field is large enough to warrant a cut. All players who miss the cut will receive a free round voucher to Kearney Hill.

Men’s City Championship | July 12 – 14

The Men’s City Golf Championship is one of Lexington’s favorite golf tournaments, including golfers of all ages and handicaps. Played on three different golf courses over the course of three days, this is a 54-hole tournament. Divisions include scratch/championship and four other flights based on players' handicap indexes.

Women's City Championship | Sept. 17 – 18

Lakeside and Tates Creek Golf Courses

This tournament is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Each person competes against participants of their skill level and there are plenty of winners. In addition to the individual competition, participants may sign up to compete in the team tournament at no additional cost. The team competition will be comprised of four players who represent the same club and are playing in the tournament as individuals. 

Divisions for both 18 holes each day or 9 holes each day

This 18-hole, two-person scramble is open to golfers of all ages and skill levels. This event has a 1:00 pm shotgun start. This event will be limited to the first 50 teams to register.

Pumpkin Patch Classic | Oct. 13

This 18-hole tournament is open to two-person teams and will be played in a scramble format. Golfers of all ages and skill levels are eligible to participate.

Two sessions are available, a Morning and an Afternoon Session.  This event sells out every year well in advance of the registration deadline.  Sign up early!

Season-long golf tour that rotates between our Lexington city golf courses, play as little or as much as you want. Divisions for both men and women. Players will have the opportunity each week to earn prize money and points. A season-long points race cumulates in the Play Golf Lex Tour Championship, where golfers that win their divisions will win FREE greens fees for an entire year.

Instead of grouping players by age and gender like you find in most junior golf tours.  We allow players to compete in divisions and against players that allow them to have success, fun, and improve.  As players improve they will have the opportunity to graduate and move up to the next division perfectly placing your junior golfer in the division that is best for their growth and enjoyment of the game.
