Through the Lens: From Sublime to Subtle

Photography by Debra Booker and Ken Silvestri
March 8 – May 4, 2024

Beauty, both grand and ordinary, is seen very differently in the eye of the photographer. From majestic landscapes to patterns on leaves, there is much to notice and appreciate in the world around us. Photography lets us share our unique vision.

Debra Booker is a visual artist and photographer in Lexington. She has created in many mediums, including mosaics, painted furniture, painting, faux finishes, mixed media collages, and photography for as long as she can remember. She has always loved the “art of seeing”– finding interesting color, texture, light, line, and composition wherever she goes. Always on the lookout for often-overlooked beauty, she finds it challenging and satisfying to unearth visual treasures and share them with others.

Ken Silvestri is a Lexington native. His passion for photography began at a young age when he took his first photos of the family dog, Lucky. He’s now consistently inspired to document the astonishing beauty he finds in nature. Ken is obsessed with the magical light in the golden hours and is endlessly chasing the interplay of light, shadow, texture, and color that he sees.
