Workforce Development Grant
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) has historically partnered with economic and workforce development agencies to provide economic and workforce development services. These agencies are diverse in their missions and work plans and provide services that create jobs and grow payroll, influence growth and tax base enhancement, and enhance the economic well-being of the community.
The grant application process is beginning for a two-year funding cycle, July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026. The application will open Monday, February 26 at 9 a.m. Complete applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on March 26, 2024.

Workforce Partners
The Economic Development Grant was authorized in the amount of $400,000 by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Adopted Budget. This grant is in its fifth year of funding and is currently in a 2-year funding cycle.

Purpose
The purpose of the grant is to provide economic and workforce development services to supplement and support the work of the Urban County Government. Funding this cycle will impact workforce areas of:
- Training/retraining;
- Employment entry/re-entry.
