Public Integrity Unit data

The Public Integrity Unit serves as a mechanism for internal accountability within the Lexington Police Department. Using BlueTeam software, PIU documents critical incidents such as complaints against officers, firearm discharges, response to resistance, vehicle pursuits, and use of naloxone (Narcan).

Employee discipline

Formal complaints against police personnel can be reported to the Public Integrity Unit by members of the public or internal employees. Formal discipline recommendations from the Chief of Police are presented to the Urban County Council for approval.
