Lexington’s Division of Waste Management will adjust its collection schedule for the New Year’s Day holiday. Residents and businesses whose regular curbside waste collection day falls on Tuesdays will be serviced the following day instead.
Those impacted by the holiday collection schedule should place their carts out on Tuesday after 4 p.m. to ensure collection on Wednesday, the makeup day.
OTHER HOLIDAY CLOSINGS: Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government offices will be closed on New Year’s Day. The City’s Recycling Center, Electronics Recycling Center, and Haley Pike Waste Management Facility will be closed on New Year’s Day and on Saturday, Dec. 29.
DISCARDED CHRISTMAS TREES: The city will begin picking up discarded cut Christmas trees on Monday, Dec. 31, and will continue to pick them up through Friday, Jan. 25. Residents wishing to recycle an artificial tree can take it to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Southland Drive or the one on Winchester Road.
