Police investigating armed robbery of gas station

December 7, 2016 - Investigators with the Lexington Police Department are working to identify and locate a man who robbed a gas station early Wednesday morning. Detectives today released surveillance images from the Speedway gas station located at 2301 Paris Pike.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, officers responded to the Speedway for a robbery that had just occurred. The store clerk told officers that an unknown suspect entered the store and handed him a note, stating that this was a robbery and that he had a gun. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands for money from the register. The suspect then fled the store on foot.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 30s or 40s, approximately 5 foot 6 inches tall with medium build. He was wearing a black jacket and a tan baseball cap.
