A teenager has been charged in connection to a shooting in Lexington. Investigators with the Lexington Police Department arrested a 17-year-old male suspect Thursday night for the shooting of another teenager last week. He is charged with Assault 1st, Receiving Stolen Property (firearm), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Substance (cocaine).
Around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, officers were dispatched to Carlisle Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers located a 16-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The investigation revealed that a drug deal led up to the shooting. Police are prohibited from releasing the suspect’s name because he is a juvenile.
