January 14 UPDATE – A man wanted for murder has been located. With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Raekwon Burse was apprehended Thursday in Lexington.

Burse was served warrant for murder in the November shooting death of Akeem Lyvers.

December 18 UPDATE – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last month. Investigators with Lexington Police have obtained a murder warrant for 24-year-old Raekwon Burse in the death of Akeem Lyvers, who was killed in the early morning hours of November 20.

Burse should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call police or submit an anonymous tip through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Friday, November 20, officers responded to the area of Short Street and Wrenn Court after hearing shots fired. Officers located a man down in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as 24-year-old Akeem Lyvers.

Police spoke with multiple witnesses at the scene and continue to gather evidence to determine what led up to the shooting. This incident does not appear to be a random shooting.
