Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Division of Water Quality to bring improvements to Southland Park, including a new playground. As Parks begins the project, they are seeking resident input on what kind of play equipment their families would enjoy.
Families are asked to complete a brief, anonymous survey, choosing between two playground designs and sets of swings for both toddlers and older kids. Questions about the playground can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Water Quality improvements to the park will include two detention basins to capture stormwater which would normally flood nearby streets and yards. The intent is to have the basins expand on the concept of the stream restoration project, which was completed several years ago.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in the spring of 2021 and be completed that summer.
