The Lexington Police Department is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian riding a Lime Electric Scooter. The pedestrian riding the scooter has been identified by the Fayette Coroner’s Office as 35-year-old Timothy R. Freeman.
On Monday, November 4, 2019, around 7:29 p.m., officers responded to outbound Richmond Road near Lakeshore Drive for an injury collision involving an electric scooter. Based upon the preliminary investigation, police determined that Freeman was traveling in the same direction as traffic. Freeman lost control of the scooter and fell into the path of oncoming traffic, then was struck by multiple vehicles. No charges are expected in this incident.
