Lexington Parks & Recreation is announcing new attractions to this year’s annual downtown Thriller and Halloween Festival. In addition to seasonal arts and crafts, live entertainment will be featured throughout the day at the Wicked Wonders Halloween Market.
New performers will include Sora Contemporary Circus, an ensemble of performance artists who specialize in cirque-style entertainment and aerial theatre. Local musicians, Bridge 19 and Ben Lacey, will also each perform a playlist of spooky tunes curated in honor of event.
Wicked Wonders will kick off at 2 p.m. and the fun will continue all day leading up to the much anticipated Thriller reenactment.
Wicked Wonders Market – Cheapside Park, 2 – 8 p.m.
Market features vendors selling ghoulish wares designed to thrill, chill and delight.

Halloween Variety Show – Courthouse Plaza, 6:30 p.m.
Show features local performing arts groups such as March Madness Marching Band, Mecca Studio, and Michael Jackson tribute dances by Danceformers and Earl Freeman. Bluegrass Youth Ballet, Traci Stone’s Dance Studio and the Salsa Center will present their Halloween creations as well.
Halloween and Thriller Parade – Main Street, 8 p.m.
Following the variety show is the Halloween Parade featuring floats, costumed characters and even more performance groups. The festivities culminate with the annual Thriller reenactment where several hundred zombies will dance, dawdle and drag themselves down Main Street to the classic Michael Jackson tune. Pedestrians can watch all along the parade route, from Quality Street to Mill Street.
Food and beverage vendors will be set-up throughout the entire festival which takes place on Sunday, Oct. 29 (2 – 11 p.m.) at the Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park.
