Motorists are cautioned about possible traffic delays on Old Frankfort Pike between New Circle Road and Forbes Road from about 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The city is sponsoring a free household hazardous waste disposal event at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike. Early interest indicates a large turnout. At times, traffic may be backed up in in both directions.
Motorists not going to the household hazardous waste event are being asked to avoid the area, if possible.
Fayette County residents who are participating in the event should allow for long wait times due to popular interest. To facilitate a faster process, participants should complete the event survey in advance (LexingtonKY.gov/HHWsurvey) and load materials in the trunk of their vehicle for easy removal by on-site staff. Participants should stay in their cars at all times.
Wait times and traffic impacts will be shared through social media by city staff. Follow @LiveGreenLex on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for updates.
