Body found on Loudon Ave, death investigation underway

October 20 Update: A man wanted in connection with a Lexington murder investigation has been apprehended in Des Moines, Iowa. The U.S. Marshals Service Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force today took Valenti N. Ware into custody without incident. He is charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence in the death of Meghan Acord.

Investigators with the Lexington Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Ware earlier this week. Based on information obtained by the Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force, Ware was located at a residence in Des Moines.

Ware is currently lodged in the Polk County (Iowa) Jail.

Valenti WareOctober 16 Update:  Detectives with the Lexington Police Department have obtained an arrest warrant for a Lexington man in connection with the murder of Meghan Acord, 37, whose body was found on October 1 near the railroad tracks in the Loudon Avenue and Eastland Drive area.  Valenti N. Ware, 35, is wanted for Murder.

Investigators believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Anyone with information about Ware’s location is asked to contact Lexington Police by calling 911.

Previously released: The Lexington Police Department is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near railroad tracks in the Loudon Avenue and Eastland Drive area.

Around 9:10 a.m. Sunday, October 1, officers responded to the area of Loudon Avenue and Eastland Drive following a report of a female subject down. Upon arrival they located a female who was deceased.  She has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner's office as Meghan Lea Acord, 37.

Police are asking anyone with information about this case to contact investigators by calling (859) 258-3600.
