Police investigating Sixth Street homicide

January 12, 2018 Update- Lexington Police Detectives have charged three juveniles with the September 2, 2017 homicide of Floyd Dunn III.  Two 17-year-old males were each charged with Murder.  One 16-year-old male was charged with Murder, and 2 counts of Robbery 1st for his involvement in the robberies of the Marathon and Valero gas stations that occurred on January 8th and 9th, 2018.  All three juveniles are currently lodged at the Fayette Regional Juvenile Detention Center.


A homicide investigation is underway as Lexington Police work to determine what led up to a fatal shooting late Saturday night.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, September 2, officers responded to the 400-block of East Sixth Street for a shooting. A 16-year-old male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he later died. The victim has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s office as Floyd Dunn III.
